ZeniMax Online Studio’s has officially opened sign-ups for their closed beta for The Elder Scrolls Online! This is a great chance and opportunity for everyone to be one of the first players to play TESO!  Along with the beta announcement, ZeniMax has released an epic cinematic trailer that presents the three alliances fighting to for what they want! If you are interested in signing up for the beta and want to have a good shot at getting accepted, let us help you out!

The first thing you want to do is start by introducing yourself. Let them know who you are. Give them a name to know you by rather than application #20,301. The second thing you are going to want to do is let them know why you are interested in beta testing The Elder Scrolls Online. So if you actually interested in finding bugs and glitches let them know! For the third step you are going to want to describe your history as a gamer and more specifically MMORPG’s. This will give them an idea of how experienced you are. For the fourth and final information to include you are going to want to let them know why to choose you over everyone else! There are going to be more than just 10 other people applying so let them know what you have to contribute and what makes you different.

Please don’t think this is all you should write in your application. Listed above is essential information that you should not forget to put in their. Have fun with your application, be honest and hit submit with confidence!

What is the start date of The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

We have begun gathering applications for entry into The Elder Scrolls Online beta as of Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The actual start of The Elder Scrolls Online beta events will take place in the weeks and months to follow.

Are there any age requirements to participate in The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the closed beta test.

What regions can participate in The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

The regions eligible for participation in The Elder Scrolls Online beta will change from one beta event to another. We encourage everyone to apply, regardless of location, and we will select participants based on our developers’ needs.

What languages will you be supporting in The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

We will conduct The Elder Scrolls Online beta events in one of our three supported languages: English, French and German.

What impact will The Elder Scrolls Online beta have on the development of the game?

The Elder Scrolls Online beta is a crucial part of our development process. During all beta events, we will be collecting feedback from players to help optimize the game and correct any discovered bugs. We will adjust the game as needed based on the feedback received.

How many participants will there be for each phase of The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

We do not have a limit to the number of participants that will be invited to take part in The Elder Scrolls Online beta. The number of participants for each beta event will depend on our developers’ needs.

How will I know if I’ve been selected to join a beta event for The Elder Scrolls Online?

If you are selected for a beta event, you will receive an e-mail from noreply@zenimaxonline.com with the details. To ensure this e-mail doesn’t end up in your spam folder, we recommend adding the aforementioned e-mail address to your Safe Senders list.

Once admitted to a beta event for The Elder Scrolls Online, am I automatically eligible for all future beta events?

Filling out the beta application ensures you will be considered for each ofThe Elder Scrolls Online beta events, but it does not guarantee you will be chosen for all events, regardless of having been admitted previously.

Once I’ve been accepted into a beta event, will I be able to play whenever I want?

The beta servers will only be available during specified dates and times that will be called out in each beta test invite.

I was selected to participate in a beta event for The Elder Scrolls Online but will not be able to participate. Can I join a future beta event?

Once you have received a beta invitation e-mail from noreply@zenimaxonline.com and created your account, you will be notified for any tests you are eligible to participate in.  If you are unable to participate, you will be notified for any future tests as you are needed.  You will also be able to participate in our open beta test.

Will I have access to all of Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

Both during beta and at launch, The Elder Scrolls Online will feature locations across Tamriel, with some areas reserved for future expansion content. That said, content available in any beta event will vary with each event and will be shared with participants at the start of that specific event.

What types of content will I be able to play in The Elder Scrolls Online beta events?

Content available in any beta event will vary with each event and evolve based on our developers’ needs. We will share content for each event with participants at the start of that specific event.

Will progress I make in The Elder Scrolls Online beta carry over into the live game?

At this time, we do not have an answer to this question. As soon as we do, we will make sure to update this FAQ.

Can I reserve a character or guild name in The Elder Scrolls Online beta?

While we do have plans to let you name your own character during beta and for certain beta events to allow participants to create guilds, we do not have a system in place for reserving names.

What are the minimum system specs required in order to be eligible forThe Elder Scrolls Online beta?

At this time, we do not have system requirements for The Elder Scrolls Online beta. If that changes, we will update this FAQ with additional information.

I use a Mac operating system. Can I participate in The Elder Scrolls Onlinebeta?

Yes. We do plan on inviting people who use Mac operating systems into beta events for The Elder Scrolls Online.

What type of internet connection is required for The Elder Scrolls Onlinebeta?

Any regular internet connection will allow you to participate in The Elder Scrolls Online beta.

Are there any special rewards available for beta participants?

We do have plans to reward The Elder Scrolls Online beta testers for participating. We’ll reveal additional details in the coming months.
